A life-long reader, Anne Hale grew up immersing in many written worlds. First was the Laura Ingalls phase, but pretending to live on a prairie is tough when living in Florida, although grass can grow as high as hay during the summer.
Judy Blume was another favorite - Anne still believes one of her brothers inspired Super Fudge. The Boxcar Kids series, Nancy Drew...she devoured books and by middle school she'd read though most of the kids section (yes, even the Hardy Boys series) and moved on to The Classics.
Okay, okay, since you ask...she did read the Sweet Valley High series, too. But the selection of books for Young Adults wasn't even close to what it is today. . .see some of Anne's Favorites here.
Since the urge to write books didn't occur to her until much, much later...Anne graduated with a Computer Science degree. She wrote a least a million lines of code before attempting her first line of fiction while flying over the Atlantic Ocean (she finished reading the book she brought and her first character kept her company!). And in case you think being a science geek doesn't have perks, Anne's science fair trophy completely dwarfs her husband's sports trophies.
Anne lives in Idaho with her husband, three daughters and one spoiled bulldog.
